Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Supports Active Duty Military and Veterans
RIT has a tradition of honoring and supporting active duty military and veterans. For over 50 years, RIT has had a Veterans Services Office dedicated to supporting and advocating for active duty military, veterans, and their dependants—helping them from the moment they consider applying to RIT all the way until graduation.
Following are just some of the many VA and Military benefits supported by RIT:
Military Friendly College
RIT is proud to be named to the 2010 Military Friendly Schools List, compiled by G.I. Jobs magazine. The list cites the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the United States that recruit students with military experience and provide academic programs and integral support systems for veterans.
Yellow Ribbon Program
Rochester Institute of Technology is proud to be a 100% participant with the GI Bill's Yellow Ribbon Program. This education benefit is available for all military personnel deployed post-9/11, and may be transferred to eligible family members. This agreement allows Rochester Institute of Technology's additional tuition assistance to then be matched by VA benefits, resulting in potentially free tuition for qualifying veterans.
